Theme - Apologetics 101: The Basics
Christian young people face a variety of attacks on the truth of Christianity, and it is vital that they be prepared to give an answer for the hope within them. To help equip young Christian men and women for defending the faith, Stephen Nichols will provide an overview of key issues in apologetics and give answers to some of the most common attacks on the Christian faith.
THURSDAY, August 18, 2022
5:00–6:00 p.m. — Registration
6:00–6:20 p.m. — Welcome
6:20–6:40 p.m. — Can I Trust the Bible?
What does the Bible have to do with our lives today? Skeptics are shocked to hear that people in the twenty-first century still believe and take such an ancient text literally. In this session, we will look at the trustworthiness of Scripture, its authority as our guide for life, and learn how to defend the Bible as the Word of God.
6:40–7:00 p.m. — Social Media and Me
Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and more—social media is not going away, and it will shape us as much as or more than we shape it. Still, there is a faithful Christian way to use social media both for the common good and for the sake of the gospel. This message will consider the various advantages and pitfalls of social media, providing guidance on how we may wisely engage with it as Christians.
7:00–7:15 p.m. — Break
7:20–7:40 p.m. — Is Jesus the Only Way?
Christians say that Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation, but some people think that’s offensive. How can we believe that God only gives eternal life to those who believe in Jesus? This message will help us understand how to defend the claim that trusting Jesus is the only way to be saved.
7:40–8:00 p.m. — What about Other Religions?
In our pluralistic age, we regularly encounter people who follow religions other than Christianity. This forces us to ask questions about these other religions. Are they true pathways to God? Do they teach the same basic truths as Christianity? Do they teach any truth at all? Can they be a preparation for the gospel? This message will address questions such as these and others related to other world religions.
8:00–8:20 p.m. — Group Discussion Time
The discussion session offers time for students to reflect on the teaching of the evening in a discussion led by parents, youth leaders, and teachers.
8:20–9:00 p.m. — Q&A: Got Questions?

Echos - Teen Ministry
Rising Above the Brokenness
The Bible declares that we are more than conquerors through Jesus who Loved us (Rom. 8:37). Our Teen ministry seeks to discover what that means and live it out. We have a wonderful time of digging deep into God’s Word and discovering what it means to have New Life in Christ.
